Top Speller Recognized at Stewart Manor School

Twenty-one Stewart Manor School scholars in grades 3-6 took to the stage on Jan. 23 for the school’s Scripps Spelling Bee. After advancing through classroom spelling bees, the top spellers from each class competed in the final spell-off.
Following eight challenging rounds, sixth grader Abdul Moeez emerged as the champion after correctly spelling “ultimatum.” Moeez now has the opportunity to advance to the regional Scripps Spelling Bee by completing an online qualifying test.
The spelling bee was organized by school librarian Ms. Coyne, who was assisted by judges Ms. D’Souza and Ms. Breuer.
