The Elmont Union Free School District proudly hosted its 2025 Science Research Symposium at Gotham Avenue School on May 29, celebrating the hard work and achievements of its young scientists. Scholars from across the district showcased a year’s worth of independent research, including projects presented at the New York State Science and Engineering Fair on April 29. Through a partnership with Elmont Memorial High School’s Science Research Consultant Michelle Flannory, the district continues to build a collaborative research pipeline between elementary and high school students. Five scholars from Dutch Broadway School were named award recipients in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Division and will be honored at a ceremony on June 12. Members of the Board of Education, as well as district and building leaders, were in attendance to commend the scholars for their innovation and excellence. The evening concluded with a walk-through exhibit and medal ceremony, recognizing each student’s contributions to the future of science.
