On June 23, 140 graduating seniors from Elmont Memorial, Sewanhaka and Floral Park Memorial high schools returned to their elementary schools across the Elmont Union Free School District for a celebratory “Senior Clap Out.” In its inaugural year, the event welcomed seniors back for one final walk through the halls where their educational journeys began. Students, staff and administrators lined the corridors with signs, noisemakers and cheers to honor their achievements. The celebration not only recognized the accomplishments of these graduates from the Sewanhaka Central High School District, but also served as a source of inspiration for our current scholars. We look forward to building on the success of this memorable experience and establishing the Senior Clap Out as an annual tradition.
